This 1988 Kawasaki KX250 is being dismantled at Derrimut. It’s a two-stroke motocrosser from the era when inverted forks and aluminium-braced swingarms were becoming the norm rather than the exception, built purely for the track with none of the trail-bike concessions you’d find on a KDX of the same period.

Parts off this KX250

  • Cylinder barrel, head, piston and reed valve assembly
  • Carburettor, airbox and power valve components
  • Expansion chamber and silencer
  • Gearbox internals and clutch assembly
  • Forks, triple clamps and wheels
  • Swingarm, rear shock and linkage
  • Front and rear brake calipers, discs and master cylinders
  • Plastics, fuel tank and seat

Late-80s motocrossers like this one are getting genuinely hard to source parts for, with dealer stock long since gone and aftermarket support patchy at best. This donor is a solid option for anyone restoring a KX250 of this generation to original spec, or keeping one running for vintage motocross competition rather than parking it up in a shed waiting on parts.

Everything is a used take-off from this actual bike, checked over before sale – never new, never boxed as genuine. We freight Australia-wide from Derrimut. Browse the Kawasaki parts category for more two-stroke Kawasaki parts, or see the FAQ for freight details. Get in touch via contact us if what you need isn’t listed yet – we’re still working through this bike and adding parts as we go. Restorers and vintage racers are the two groups we hear from most for a bike this age, usually chasing a single hard-to-find item rather than a complete engine. Give us a call about anything specific you can’t see listed yet.
