This 1983 Yamaha TT600 is being dismantled at Derrimut. It’s a big-bore air-cooled four-stroke trail single, built off-road only rather than road-registered – a proper thumper with real low-down torque, popular in its day with riders who wanted a big single without the weight and complexity of a twin.

Parts off this TT600

  • Engine cases, cylinder head, barrel and piston
  • Carburettor, airbox and exhaust system
  • Kickstart mechanism, gearbox internals and clutch
  • Forks, triple clamps and both wheels
  • Swingarm, rear shock and linkage
  • Front and rear brake assemblies
  • Fuel tank, seat, subframe and mudguards
  • Handlebars, controls, footpegs, chain and sprockets

Big-bore 80s trail singles like this one are increasingly hard to find genuine parts for, with dealer stock long gone. This donor is a useful source whether you’re restoring a TT600 to original spec or just keeping one running for weekend trail rides, and engine parts here broadly suit other TT600 model years from the same generation, including the 1985 example we’re also wrecking.

Everything is a used take-off, checked over before sale – never new, never boxed as genuine. We freight Australia-wide from our Derrimut yard. Browse the Yamaha parts category for more from this era, or see the FAQ for freight details. Ask about a specific item even if it’s not listed yet – we’re still working through this bike and adding parts as we go. Trail riders and restorers keeping an older Yamaha thumper running are the main buyers we see for parts like these. Give us a call and we’ll check what’s on hand. Call ahead to confirm exact fitment before ordering a specific item.
