This 1976 Yamaha MX100 is being pulled apart at Derrimut. It’s a small-capacity two-stroke minicross bike from the twin-shock era, before monoshock rear suspension became standard across Yamaha’s motocross range – simple, light and built for junior racers stepping up from a minibike rather than down from a full-size machine.

Parts off this MX100

  • Cylinder barrel, head and piston
  • Carburettor and airbox
  • Expansion chamber and silencer
  • Gearbox internals and clutch assembly
  • Forks and twin shocks
  • Wheels, hubs and spokes
  • Front and rear brake assemblies
  • Plastics, fuel tank and seat

Mid-70s minicross bikes like this one are a genuine rarity on the used parts market, with dealer stock and aftermarket support both long gone. This donor is a solid find for collectors restoring a twin-shock-era Yamaha to original spec, or vintage motocross clubs running dedicated classes for bikes of this vintage rather than modern minicrossers.
